Rend Alpha 0.47.84.10346 Patch Notes

Our thirteenth Alpha update is gigantic with hundreds of bug fixes and balance tweaks as well as introducing new perks and gameplay modifying Yggdrasil Shrines and Obelisks of Coryn! As always, we'll endeavor to include all updates and fixes in these notes but let us know if you discover anything missing.

Game Changes
  • Adventuring, Construction, Invention, and Mysticism Crafting Skill Perks have been implemented.
  • Spike Launcher and Shard Blaster Weapon Skill Perks have been overhauled.
  • Cooking Crafting Skill Perks have been overhauled.
  • Tons of in-game icons updated. Tell us your favorite!
  • Added new icons to character customization.
  • Updated the seasonal effects of the Roots of Yggdrasil biome.
  • Shrines will now spawn in the Roots of Yggdrasil biome. Upon activation, these will provide a powerful short duration buff for all players nearby.
  • Changed the backend of how burst weapons and stats now function, this will allow us to do awesome new things with burst weapons (and weapons that aren’t burst weapons). Please report any weirdness experienced with burst fire weapons.
  • Secondary weapon skills now scale your PvP and PvE damage separately. Level 50 in a weapon skill will grant +200% PvE damage while only granting +10% PvP damage.
  • Added new music to the Highlands, Skarsyre, Dreadveil, and Myrkfen.
  • Added Obelisks of Coryn to the game. These Obelisks can be found throughout the world and will provide significant crafting benefits to the nearby area.
  • Changed the velocity of Hitscan visual projectiles to better sync with the damage timing. (sped them all up a bunch)
  • Added more custom server settings:
    • PvP Damage Multiplier
    • PvE Damage Multiplier
    • Friendly Damage Multiplier
    • Player Siege Damage Multiplier
    • Environmental Siege Damage Multiplier
Balance Changes
  • Spark of Genius payouts from harvesting will no longer be scaled by your resource yield modifiers.
  • Modified experience curve between level 5 and 25, generally increasing the required experience per level, especially level 6 to 12.
  • First Aid Compresses now have a 5 second cast time and a 10 second cooldown.
  • Added creature level scaling to later Reckoning events.
  • Experience per Spirit turn in increased to 200 (up from 50).
  • Adjusted the draak (raptor) jump animation and activated jump for mount version.
  • Reduced the Sight Radius, Hearing Radius, out of combat speed, and attention span of Lost in the Spirit Realm.
  • During a Reckoning, harvesting and creature spawns now get reenabled after all factions defeat their Lost spawns.
  • Draughts are now unlocked via Research and can no longer be crafted without it.
  • Increased the weight of Explosive Ammo.
  • High rating creatures are now significantly harder to tame.
  • Decreased faction base refinery speeds.
  • Greatly increased personal refinery speeds (especially at higher tiers).
  • Personal refineries are now upgradeable.
  • Moved personal refineries a tier lower (now Tier 1).
  • Reduced armor values of high tier cloth armor.
  • Increased the cost of Light Leather Wraps.
  • Increased area of glutt resource harvesting.
  • Control Point selection for dropping shields is now weighted based on each faction's spirit score.
  • Elder rank minimum reputation requirement reduced to 50 (down from 2000).
  • Reduced damage of Deep Wounds debuff.
  • Increased the wander radius for creatures.
  • Increased size variance for creatures.
  • Reduced the Spirit value of Etherplum to 3 (down from 5).
  • Reduced the Spirit value of Kelpie Crown to 4 (down from 10).
  • Reduced the base drop rate of Spirit Flowers.
  • Reduced the quantity of the Lost in the Spirit Realm.
  • Reduced the perception and aggro ranges of yxen in the Highlands and Frystfell.
  • Increased the spacing between creature packs in the Highlands.
  • Adjusted crit zones for grunters, yxen, and draaks (raptors).
Crafting Changes
  • Fixed a number of recipes that had invalid craft success chance data, causing them to be previously uncraftable.
  • Updated several recipes that were requiring materials no longer available in game.
  • Adjusted recipes crafted with materials gathered from the Roots of Yggdrassil.
  • Cooking recipe material requirements adjusted to now include more meat and require some herbal essences.
  • Switched forges, saws and stone cutters to upgrade the personal refineries rather than the base refineries.
  • Added new color swapped personal refineries.
  • Reduced refinery upgrade costs.
  • Adjusted recipes for early game Poison and Disease removal First Aid items.
  • Added the new backpack equipslot items to craft trees.
  • Added recipes for same-tier resource transmutation.
    • Stone turns to wood.
    • Wood turns to metal.
    • Metal turns to stone.
  • Added divinite armor recipes to heavy armor crafting tree.
  • Added Tier 4 fur armor tier to fur crafting tree.
  • Removed unused recipes from the Loom and Leatherworking Station.
  • Removed recipes for Bloodsilk Bandages and Angelsilk Bandages. (No more free bandages, sorry not sorry.)
Interface Changes
  • Added credits interface.
  • Protection of Valhalla now has a tooltip explaining that you are invulnerable.
  • Collections info pane now includes Pet Carry Weight with stat modifiers
  • Collections info pane no longer shows current stamina, now only displays max stamina.
  • Updated Archetype Craft Skill Tree and Craft Skill Folders to use new class names
  • Added filtering options on the server select menu
  • Fixed talent icon shapes.
  • Fixed the odd behavior of chat whispers.
  • Updated Tier 4 weapon names.
  • Added mouse over highlight to craft trees.
  • Realigned the visual of some crafting trees that were placed oddly.
  • Spirit Flowers are now correctly categorized as consumables.
Bug Fixes
  • Resource nodes should no longer briefly disappear on initial harvest.
  • Changed the Reckoning base defense damage aura so that it no longer affects players.
  • Corrected Shaman Talent - Witching Hour Perk tooltip to reflect the actual damage bonus it grants (3% is correct).
  • Shaman Talent - Spirit Step
    • Now correctly places you in the Spirit Realm for 10 seconds.
    • Movement Speed increased to 20% bonus (up from 10%) fixed tooltip to reflect actual ability (tooltip was erroneously reporting 30% movement speed bonus)
  • Fixed "Actoin Bar" typo.
  • Fixed an issue preventing Pathfinder Talent Bonfires from applying their buff to players
  • Fixed Cowering Shout (Warlord) tooltip typos.
  • Fixed visual display issues with cast animations and effects on First Aid Compresses.
  • Fixed typos in Pathfinder ability "Roc's Wings" ability, perk, and buff tooltips.
  • Assassin Talent - Master of Poison now converts 20% of damage to Poison and reduces Poison durations by 20% (was 25%) updated tooltip to match
  • Metallurgy Perk - Gold Rush now lasts the correct duration (60 seconds) and has the correct cooldown (5 minutes).
  • Fixed an issue causing factions to not cap at 20 players.
  • Fixed an issue with the persistent visual of War Cry being incorrectly rotated.
  • Fixes for Totems not applying the appropriate buff
  • Fixed Shoulder Armor pieces not rolling Affixes.
  • Fixed teleporting to not send players through walls.
  • Fixed an issue preventing Wasprey pets ranged attack from doing damage
  • Assault Tactics now correctly increases Movement Speed by 20%, no longer stacks and is generally way less dumb.
  • Fixed a tooltip display issue with Secondary Skill related stats.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing Metallurgy Perk Forceful Swing from triggering.
  • Fixed an issue that was preventing cooldown reduction from triggering.
  • Fixed an issue preventing negative resistance stats from applying bonus damage. Also it is no longer theoretically possible to obtain 100% damage resistance against a damage type.
  • Fixed an edge case where certain damage mitigation values could cause you to heal.
  • Creatures that are pushed to the Spirit Realm via Taming Crystal will no longer return to the normal world on leashing.
  • Fixed infinite double jump.
  • Fixed assorted client crashes.
  • Fixed an issue preventing crafting stations benefitting from crafting stats modifiers from plugs (such as bonus critical chance or craft speed)
  • Fixed a bug which prevent the second faction in the list from being affected by the debuff volume.
  • Fixed an issue with low level boars not dropping boar tusks
  • Fixed an issue with the Bounty of Alfheim buff
  • Stags are now mountable again.
  • Fixed the following Ascension bugs:
    • Being able to buy a perk when you have exact points.
    • Pet slots will properly be recalculated on login.
    • Pet favorites slots will properly be managed.
  • Removed "mmm" sound effect from male.
  • Removed collision problems from spirit totems.
  • Fixed pet harvest ranges.
  • Fixed an issue causing Wooden Spike ammo to not shoot a projectile or deal damage.
  • In-game VOIP is now set as disabled by default for unofficial servers.
  • Fixed an issue causing untextured Ruins.
  • Fixed Siege Arbalest weapon icon, mesh, and animations
  • Improved how server handles client and server disagreements.
  • Deployed a speculative fix for Control Point times getting reset on server restart.
Known Issues
  • Spacebar currently cannot be assigned as a keybind other than the default for jump.
